17ENCleaning the DiscA defective or soiled disc inserted into theunit can cause sound to drop out duringplayback.Handle the disc by holding its inner andouter edges.• Do NOT touch the surface of the unlabeledside of the disc.• Do NOT stick paper ortape on the surface.• Do NOT expose thedisc to direct sunlightor excessive heat.• Clean the disc before playback. Wipethe disc from the center outward with acleaning cloth.• NEVER use solvents such as benzine oralcohol to clean the disc.• Do NOT use irregular shaped discs(example: heart shaped, octagonal, etc.).They may cause malfunctions.Cleaning the Unit• Be sure to turn the unit off and disconnectthe power source before maintaining theunit.• Wipe the unit with a dry soft cloth. If thesurfaces are extremely dirty, wipe cleanwith a cloth that has been dipped in aweak soap-and-water solution and wrungout thoroughly. Then wipe with a drycloth.• Never use alcohol, benzine, thinner,cleaning fluid or other chemicals. Do NOTuse compressed air to remove dust.IMPORTANT NOTEBefore transporting the unit, remove anydisc from the disc compartment.MaintenanceThe disc does not play• There is no disc inside the unit (“No Disc”appears on the screen).• Insert the disc correctly with the graphicsfacing up.• Clean the disc.• A non-NTSC disc has been inserted, or thedisc region number does not match theregion number of the unit.• Condensation may have formed insidethe unit due to a sudden change intemperature. Wait about an hour for it toclear and try again.
