Press TV to place the remote in TV mode. Make sure that thecomponent you want to view is turned ON.2. Press WHO•INPUT to tune to an available input channel.3. Continue to press the WHO•INPUT button to scroll through thechannels.Programming the RemoteThe universal remote can be programmed to control most brands ofremote controllable VCRs, satellite receivers and cable boxes. Theremote is already programmed to control most RCA, GE and ProscanTVs, VCRs, DVD players, laserdisc players and satellite receivers.Testing the RemoteTo determine whether the universal remote needs to be programmed,turn a component ON, such as a VCR, point the remote at the VCR, andpress the VCR1 button. Then press ON•OFF or CH ^ (channel up) or CH v(channel down) to see if the VCR responds to the remote commands. Ifnot, the remote needs to be programmed.Using Automatic Code SearchThe following instructions can be used to program the remote tocontrol each of the components connected to your TV. If you want toexit the automatic code search without programming any of yourcomponents, press CLEAR until the LED turns off.1. Turn on the component you want to control (VCR, SAT, etc.)2. Point the remote at the component to be controlled. Press and holdthe button you want to program (VCR1, VCR2, etc.). While holdingthe component button, press and hold ON•OFF until the light onthe remote turns on, then release both buttons. For the AUXbutton, using code search will not work, you must use direct entry.3. Press and release PLAY, then wait 5 seconds or until the LED stopsflashing.At this point the remote is searching for the correct code toprogram. If, after 5 seconds, the component you want to controldoes not turn off, press PLAY again to tell the remote to search thenext set of codes.Continue pressing PLAY until the component turns off or you havesearched through all of the codes. There are 20 total sets of codes.If the component does not turn off after pressing PLAY 20 times,then the remote cannot control that particular component.You’ll use these buttons when you programthe remote to control any component.The remote may not operate all models ofall brands.L.E.D.
