Chapter 4 59Using the TV’s Menu SystemDigital Audio OutIf you’ve connected a six-channel amplifier/receiver to the TV’s DIGITAL AUDIOOUTPUT jack with a digital optical cable, you can receive Dolby Digital*surround sound if transmitted. Choose the correct setting in the Digital AudioOut menu:• Auto Select If selected, your TV automatically chooses between DolbyDigital and PCM based on the audio signal it is receiving. This is the bestselection if you have a Dolby Digital* and PCM decoder that wasmanufactured in the last several years.• PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) If selected, the TV sends all signals throughthe Digital Audio Output in PCM.Time MenuThe Time menu lets you set up time-related features such as: Sleep Timer, Wake-up Timer, or Time of Day. Just follow the on-screen help text to assist you insetting up the features–the information is explained in detail.Note: If your TV does not automatically acquire the time, you mustremember to set your TV’s time when the time changes to Daylight SavingTime. Sleep Timer and Wake-up Timer will not function as you expect ifyou forget to change the TV’s time.Connections MenuThe Connections menu specifies various ways to adjust the inputs to yourtelevision. Items in the Connections menu are: Antenna Info, Channel Search,Software Upgrade, Signal Source, Signal Type, Auto Tuning, DTVLink, SpecialFeatures, Ethernet Setup.*“Dolby”, “Pro Logic”, and the double-D symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories.SubwooferThe built-in Subwoofer enhances low-frequency audio. The Subwoofer settingcan only be changed if the Fixed/Variable audio output is set to the VariableOutput. The choices are: Subwoofer On or Subwoofer Off.Antenna InfoThis screen lists any channel EVER added to the TV. The list shows the channelnumber, the station name when tuned, e.g. NBC, whether the channel is digitalor analog, which antenna is picking up the channel, and for digital channels,and its current signal strength.
