Basic OperationManual Volume ControlTo adjust the volume of all soundsmadebythisengine,turnthemastervolumecontrol knob l ocated under the tenderclockwise to i ncreasethevolumeandcounter-clockwise todecreasethevolume.Horn/Whistle - Tosoundthewhistle,firmlypress theHorn/Whistle button. Thewhistlewill sound foraslongasyoucontinue to depressthebutton. Itwill stop whenyoureleasethebutton.Bell - To sound the bell, firmlypress and releasethe Bellbutton.Toturn the bell off,press and releasethe Bell buttonagain. The bell will continue toringfromthetimeyouturnitonuntil you press and releasethebuttonagain to turn it off.Direction Yourtrain isprogrammed tostart in neutral.The trainwillalways cycleneutral-forward-neutral-reversewitheachpressandrelease of thedirectionbutton. The engine i sprogrammed torestart inneutraleachtimethetrackvoltageisturnedofffor25secondsormore.Emergency Stop PresstheEmergency Stopbuttonand alltrains on thetrackcontrolled b ytheremote will stop u ntil youreapply voltage. This is aneasywaytoshutdownyourtrainsatt h e e n d o f a session or to stopsuddenlythetrain'spathbecomes obstructed.Operation ButtonsThrottle Up Throttle up the power toyourtrackbypressingthe top endof the ThrottleControl Rocker Switchfirmlyforabout5seconds, until the engine's headlight andlighted cars burnbright. Then puttheengineintomotionbyfirmlypressingtheDirection button (holdit for approximately1 second)onyourremoteonce. I f t h e enginedoes not begin to moveas soon as youfirmly press the Direction button,you may nothave sent enough voltage tothetrack to make the train move. Press the throttle u p f o r afewmoresecondsuntilthetrainbeginstomove. To increase ordecreasetrack voltage,andthereforetrain speed, press the throttlecontrol rocker switch. Pressing the topendofthethrottle will increase voltageand speed. Pressingthe bottom end o f the throttlewilldecrease voltage and speed.
