Otherwise, all installations must bein accordance with the relevant instructions in this booklet,with the relevant national and local regulations, and with thelocal gas and electricity supply companies’ requirements.Make sure that the gas supply is turned on and that thecooker is wired in and switched on (the cooker needselectricity).Set the clock to make sure that the oven is functional – seethe relevant section in this manual.Only a qualified service engineer should service the cooker,and only approved spare parts should be used.Unless specified otherwise in this guide, always allow thecooker to cool and then switch it off at the mains beforecleaning or carrying out any maintenance work.Peculiar SmellsWhen you first use your cooker it may give off an odour. Thisshould stop after use.Before using for the first time, make sure that all packingmaterials have been removed and then, to dispelmanufacturing odours, turn the ovens to 200 °C and run for atleast an hour.Before using the grill for the first time you should also turn onthe grill and run for 30 minutes with the grill pan in position,pushed fully back, and the grill door open.Make sure the room is well ventilated to the outside air(see ‘Ventilation’ below).
