Take care when using thelowest or highest shelf positions or thefood may overcook.Lower heating elementThe element in the floor operates to givea conventional bottom heat oven system.The oven should be pre-heated beforeuse until the temperature indicator lightgoes out.It is recommended that food is onlyplaced on shelf position 1 (the lowest)when cooking with the lower heatingelement function.This function is ideal for ‘blind baking’quiches and pastry tarts so that the baseof the item cooks and crispsGrillThe inner infrared grill element in theroof of the oven operates. The ovenshould be pre-heated for 5-10 minutesbefore use.This function is ideal for grilling smallquantities of food. Fit the handle whensliding the oven pan in or out of theoven.Grilling must always take placewith the oven door closed in orderto ensure correct performance ofthis function. Check your foodregularly to avoid over cooking.Light onlyThe oven interior light comes on.Oven temperatureThe oven temperature is set by turningthe appropriate oven temperature selectorknob clockwise to the required level. Anoven temperature must be set for allfunctions except defrost and light.Temperatures can be set from 50ºC to250ºC.Once a temperature has been selected, theappropriate temperature indicator lightwill glow. When the oven has reached therequired temperature, the light will goout. If pre-heating is recommended, foodcan now be placed in the oven. Duringcooking, the light will occasionally glowas the heating element(s) operate tomaintain the oven temperature.The temperature selector should be resetto zero by turning anti-clockwise afteruse.Fan oven Temperature ConversionChartWhen converting conventional ovenrecipes for use with the fan ovenfunction, the oven temperature is reducedby approximately 10°C.
