3n Care should be taken to avoid touchingthe heating elements inside the mainoven.n Whole chickens and large joints of meatshould be defrosted thoroughly in therefrigerator. Do not defrost in a warmoven or while the adjoining oven is inoperation or still warm.n Cooking high moisture content foodscan create a ‘steam burst’ when the ovendoor is opened. When opening the ovenstand well back and allow any steam todisperse (Fig. 1.1).n When the oven is on, DO NOT leavethe oven door open for longer thannecessary.n When cooking dishes that containalcohol, the alcohol may evaporatedue to the high temperatures and thevapour can catch fire if it comes intocontact with a hot part of the oven.n Frozen foods such as pizzas shouldbe cooked on the wire grill. If thebaking tray is used, it may becomedeformed due to the great variation intemperatures.n Do not pour water into the bottom ofthe oven when it is hot. This could causedamage to the enamel surface.n The oven door must be closed duringcooking.n Fruit juices will leave stains, which willleave a mark on the enamel surfacesof the oven. When cooking very moistcakes, use the deep pan.n Do not rest oven accessories on theopen oven door.n DO NOT use a steam cleaner on yourappliance.n Never heat unopened food containers.Pressure build-up may cause thecontainers to burst and cause injury.n DO NOT use aluminium foil to covershelves, linings or the oven roof.n This appliance is heavy, so take carewhen moving it.n The appliance is not intended to beoperated by means of external timer orseparated remote-control system.n This appliance can be used by childrenaged from 8 years and above andpersons with reduced physical, sensoryor mental capabilities or lack ofexperience and knowledge if they havebeen given supervision or instructionconcerning use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazardsinvolved.n Children less than 8 years of age shouldbe kept away unless continuouslysupervised. Children shall not playwith the appliance.
