16OvensThe ovens have removable panels that have beencoated with a special enamel that partly cleans itself.This does not stop all marks on the lining, but helpsto reduce the amount of manual cleaning needed.The Cook & Clean panels work better above200°C. If you do most of your cooking below thistemperature, occasionally remove the panels andwipe with a lint free cloth and hot soapy water.The panels should then be dried and replaced andthe oven heated at 200°C for about one hour. Thiswill ensure the Cook & Clean panels are workingeff ectively.Don’t use steel wool (Brillo) or any other materialsthat will scratch the surface. Don’t use oven cleaningpads.Removing the Oven LiningsSome of the lining panels can be removed forcleaning and for cleaning behind. Remove theshelves first.The side panels of either oven can be removed.Each side of the oven is fixed with four fixing screws.You don’t have to remove the screws to remove theoven linings. Lift each side panel upwards and theywill slide off the screws. Then pull them forwards.Once the linings are removed, the oven enamelinterior can be cleaned.TroubleshootingA crack has appeared in the Hob surfaceDisconnect the cooker immediately from the powersupply and arrange for its repair. Don’t use the cookeruntil after the repair. See the Customer care leaflet forhow to contact a service person.My Hob is scratchedHave you used the correct cleaning methods?Pots and pans with rough bottoms, or coarse particles(salt or sand) between the pan and the surface of thehob may cause scratches.Use the recommended cleaning methods. Make surepan bottoms are smooth and clean. Tiny scratches arenot removable but will become less visible in time asa result of cleaning.Metal markings on the HobDo not slide aluminium or copper pans across thesurface. Marks from aluminium and copper pans aswell as mineral deposits from water or food can beremoved with the cleaning cream.Steam is coming from the ovenWhen cooking foods with a high water content (e.g.oven chips) there may be some steam visible at therear grille. Take care when opening the oven door, asthere may be a momentary puff of steam when theoven door is opened. Stand well back and allow anysteam to disperse.The oven fan is noisyThe note of the oven fan may change as the ovenheats up - this is perfectly normal.What cleaning materials are recommended for thecooker?See the ‘Cleaning’ section for recommended cleaningmaterials. We do not recommend Mr. Muscle, as itcontains chemicals that may damage the surfaces ofyour cooker.Grill not cooking properlyAre you using the pan and trivet supplied with thecooker? Is the pan being used on the runners, notthe floor of the compartment? Is the grill tray pushedfully back to stop?The knobs get hot when I use the oven or the grill,can I avoid this?Yes, this is caused by heat rising from the oven or thegrill, and heating them up. Don’t leave the oven dooropen. Make sure that the grill pan is pushed rightback to the ‘back stop’ when grilling.
