6To adjust the preheat power level:Select the cooking zone (make sure the dot is illuminated)and then press the ‘+’ key to increase the power level. Pressingthe ‘–‘ key after the preheat is underway will interrupt theoperation, switching off the preheat and leaving the cookingzone operating at one power level lower.Timer FunctionThe timer has two settings:Zone timerMinute timerZone timerThis allows one of the cooking zones to be set to cook up toa maximum of 99 minutes at a set power level. At the end ofthe cooking time an alarm will sound and the zone will turnoff automatically.Activating the timer:Select the required cooking zone and then, using the ‘+’ and‘–‘ keys, set the desired cooking temperature. Press the timerkey: the timer display will illuminate with ‘00’ flashing(Fig.2-11). Set the required cooking duration by pressingthe timer key to increase the cooking time and the ‘–‘ key toreduce the cooking time.Note: When the ‘00’ is flashing, pressing the ‘–‘ key will set thetimer to 60 minutes.The timer will activate automatically within a few secondsand an indicator light will appear in the timer displaycorresponding the activated zone (Fig.2-12).Changing a previously set cooking time:Select the cooking zone: a red dot will show in the display.Press the timer key once then press the ‘+’ key to increase, orthe ‘–‘ key to reduce the cooking time.Interrupting the timer:Select the required cooking zone; the red dot will light up inthe display. Press the timer key and, using the ‘–‘ key, reducethe cooking time to ‘00’. This will switch off the timer but leavethe cooking zone on until manually deactivated.Pressing the ‘+’ and ‘–‘ keys simultaneously will rapidly set thetimer to ‘00’.Turning off the timer alarm:At the end of the cooking time the hob will beep steadily for2 minutes. Press any key to stop the alarm.Minute timerThe timer can also be used as a simple minute timer, up to amaximum of 99 minutes.Setting the timer:Make sure that none of the cooking zones has been selected(press the relevant key to deselect the cooking zone – the dotin the zone display will go out).
