Fuel safetyWARNING: Read the warninginstructions that follow before you use theproduct.• Do not start the product if there is fuel or engine oilon the product. Remove the unwanted fuel/oil and letthe product dry.• If you spill fuel on your clothing, change clothingimmediately.• Do not get fuel on your body, it can cause injury. Ifyou get fuel on your body, use soap and water toremove the fuel.• Do not start the product if the engine has a leak.Examine the engine for leaks regularly.• Be careful with fuel. Fuel is flammable and the fumesare explosive and can cause injuries or death.• Do not breathe in the fuel fumes, it can cause injury.Make sure that there is a sufficient airflow.• Do not smoke near the fuel or the engine.• Do not put warm objects near the fuel or the engine.• Do not add the fuel when the engine is on.• Make sure that the engine is cool before you refuel.• Before you refuel, open the fuel tank cap slowly andrelease the pressure carefully.• Do not add fuel to the engine in an indoor area. Notsufficient airflow can cause injury or death becauseof asphyxiation or carbon monoxide.• Tighten the fuel tank cap fully. If the fuel tank cap isnot tightened, there is a risk of fire.• Move the product a minimum of 3 m / 10 ft from theposition where you filled the tank before a start.• Do not fill the fuel tank fully. Heat causes the fuel toexpand. Keep a space at the top of the fuel tank.Safety instructions for maintenanceWARNING: Read the warninginstructions that follow before you use theproduct.• Stop the engine and make sure that the cuttingequipment stops. Let the product become coolbefore you do the maintenance.• Disconnect the spark plug cap before you do themaintenance.• The exhaust fumes from the engine contain carbonmonoxide, an odourless, poisonous and verydangerous gas that can cause death. Do not run theproduct indoors or in closed spaces.• The exhaust fumes from the engine are hot and cancontain sparks. Do not run the product indoors ornear flammable material.• Accessories and changes to the product that are notapproved by the manufacturer, can cause seriousinjury or death. Do not change the product. Alwaysuse original accessories.• If the maintenance is not done correctly andregularly, there is an increased risk of injury anddamage to the product.• Only do the maintenance as this operator's manualrecommends. Let an approved Redmax serviceagent do all other servicing.• Let an approved Redmax service agent do servicingon the product regularly.• Replace damaged, worn or broken parts.OperationIntroductionWARNING: Read and understand thesafety chapter before you use the product.FuelThis product has a two-stroke engine.CAUTION: Incorrect type of fuel canresult in engine damage. Use a mixture ofgasoline and two-stroke oil.Premixed fuel• Use Redmax premixed alkylate fuel of a goodquality, for best performance and extension of theengine life. This fuel contains less harmful chemicalscompared to regular fuel, which decreases harmfulexhaust fumes. The quantity of remains aftercombustion is lower with this fuel, which keeps thecomponents of the engine more clean.To mix fuelGasoline• Use good quality unleaded gasoline with a maximumof 10% ethanol contents.CAUTION: Do not use gasoline withan octane grade less than 90 RON/87AKI. Use of a lower octane grade cancause engine knocking, which causesengine damages.• We recommend that you use gasoline of a higheroctane grade for work with continuously high rpm.Two-stroke oil• For best results and performance use Redmax two-stroke oil.1075 - 003 - 30.01.2021 7
