This is perfectly normal due tothe fact that there are various gauges and typesof steel used within your appliance. Listed beloware some examples. All are normal operatingsounds and should not be considered as defectsin your appliance.Blower:Regency® gas appliances use high tech blowersto push heated air farther into the room. It is notunusual for the fan to make a "whirring" soundwhen ON. This sound will increase or decreasein volume depending on the speed setting of yourfan speed control.Burner Tray:The burner tray is positioned directly under theburner tube(s) and logs and is made of a differentgauge material from the rest of the firebox and body. Therefore, the varying thicknesses of steel willexpand and contract at slightly different rates whichcan cause "ticking" and "cracking" sounds. Youshould also be aware that as there are temperaturechanges within the unit these sounds will likelyre-occur. Again, this is normal for steel fireboxes.Blower Thermodisc:When this thermally activated switch turns ONit will create a small "clicking" sound. This is theswitch contacts closing and is normal.Pilot Flame:While the pilot flame is on it can make a very slight"whisper" sound.Gas Control Valve:As the gas control valve turns ON and OFF, adull clicking sound may be audible, this is normaloperation of a gas regulator or valve.Unit Body/Firebox:Different types and thicknesses of steel will expandand contract at different rates resulting in some"cracking" and "ticking" sounds will be heardthroughout the cycling process.WA R N I N G : C H I L D R E N A N DADULTS SHOULD BE ALERTED TOTHE HAZARDS OF HIGH SURFACETEMPERATURE AND SHOULD STAYAWAYTO AVOID BURNS OR CLOTHINGIGNITION.YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULDBE CAREFULLY SUPERVISED WHENTHEY ARE IN THE SAME ROOM ASTHE APPLIANCE.CAUTION: ANY SAFETY SCREEN ORGUARD REMOVED FOR SERVICING ANAPPLIANCE MUST BE REPLACED PRIORTO OPERATING THE APPLIANCE.CLOTHING OR OTHER FLAMMABLEMATERIAL SHOULD NOT BE PLACEDON OR NEAR THE APPLIANCE.
