Regency® P42-4 Zero Clearance Direct Vent Gas Fireplace 25INSTALLATIONAERATIONADJUSTMENTThe aeration adjustment gears are located onthe valve mounting plate and are accessedfrom underneath through the bottom louveropening.To access the air shutter loosen the lock nut andthen use the allen key to turn the turning gearwhich will adjust the air shutter. Open the airshutter for a blue flame or close it for a yellowerflame. Tighten the lock nut when adjustment iscomplete. The burner aeration is factory set butmay need adjusting due to either the local gassupply or altitude.CAUTION: Carbon will be produced if airshutter is closed too much. (Should be3/16"(4mm) open for natural gas and 1/2"(13mm) for propane.)Note: Aeration Adjustment should only beperformed by an authorized Regency®Installer at the time of installation orservice.BRICK PANELS1) Unhook the 2 spring loaded hooks from thebottom of the flush door and lift the FlushFront off the unit.2) Unwrap the brick pattern panels from theprotective wrapping. Handle the panels withcare as they can break easily.Note: The logs must not be in the unit.3) Remove the metal channel from the fireboxtop, and use it later for installing the topbrick panel (refer to Diagram 1).Diagram 1MetalChannel4) Insert the back brick panel first by carefullyslipping it between the back wall of thefirebox and the rear log bracket.(front)(back)5) Insert the side panels. Tilt them in towardsthe middle of the firebox and put the bottomfront corner in first. Be very careful not toscratch them on the firebox hardware. Placethem flat up against the wall, they should fitsnugly against the top of the firebox.IMPORTANT: Dangerous operatingconditions may occur if the panelsare broken.Diagram 2TabTabDiagram 39) Ensure all panels are securely in place (referto Diagram 3).6) Rest the narrow end of the top brick panelon top of the back wall brick panel. Then,with both hands, lift the top panel up.7) Slot the top metal channel 1/2 way into placeonto the top of the panel.8) Carefully position and push the top panelinto position. Make sure the tabs of the metalchannel fit into the baffle openings (refer toDiagram 2). Push downwards to secure thechannel and top panel.
