I1200 Regency Wood Insert 9INSTALLATIONINSTALLINGYOUR INSERTSAFETY NOTE: The insert is very heavy andwill require two or three people to move it intoposition. The insert can be made a little lighterby removing the cast iron door by opening it andlifting it off its hinges. Be sure to protect yourhearth extension with a heavy blanket or carpetscrap during the installation.NOTE: You will be required to purchase eitherthe standard or offset 6" diameter (152mm)flue adaptor that is best suited for the specificinstallation.List of Tools needed;- Pull Rod (included with insert)- 1/2” socket / ratchet- 3/8 open face wrench1) Install flex liner into existing chimney asper liner manufacturer’s specifications. Seediagram 1.2) Install the required flue adaptor onto the endof the flex liner. Secure the adaptor using3 screws - 1 on the front, left and right sideas shown in diagram 2.Alignment of the flue adaptor can be criticalduring the install, it is recommended that theflex liner be left as compressed as possible.Before inserting the unit the adaptor shouldhang, when level, slightly above the requiredheight.Secure adaptor using 3 screws - 1 in thefront and 1 each on the left and right side.3) Install the unit by first setting the rear ofthe unit into the fireplace. See diagram3. Ensure that the unit is centered in theexisting fireplace and lined up with the flueadaptor.4) Slide the unit back until the flue adaptor isslightly engaged.5) At this point it is recommended to level theunit and ensure that the leveling bolts reston the surface of the fireplace. This will keepthe adaptor from binding as the unit is slidinto position.6) Insert the provided pull rod through thehole in the top center of the unit. Securethe threaded end into the flue adaptor asshown in diagram 4. While sliding the unitinto place pull on the rod to ensure thatthe flue adaptor is properly engaged. Seediagram 5.Pull Rod7) Ensure that the unit is still level.8) To complete the installation and to ensure asecure fit and connection of the flue adaptorto the insert, it is essential that the two bolts,flat washers and lock washers (suppliedwith packaged manual) be installed andtightened using a 1/2" socket as shown indiagram 6. This prevents the possibility ofcreosote drip and exhaust gas leakage.9) Remove the pull rod from the top center ofthe fireplace. See diagram 7.10) Re-install the door if removed prior toinstallation.NOTE: The pull rod should not be thrownaway.
