Regency IP28 Gas Inbuilt Fireplace35MAINTENANCEMAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONSAny maintenance required accessing the glassdoor of the unit must be performed by an au-thorized service person.1) Always unplug the power cord before cleaning.For relighting, refer to lighting instructions. Keepthe burner and control compartment clean bybrushing and vacuuming at least once a year.When cleaning the logs, use a soft clean brushas the logs are fragile and easily damaged.2) Clean glass (never when unit is hot), appliance,louvres, and door with a damp cloth. Neveruse an abrasive cleaner. The gold louvres(and optional gold door) may be scratched ifabrasives are used to clean them.The heater is finished in a heat resistant paintand should only be refinished with heat resist-ant paint (not with wall paint). Regency usesStoveBright Paint - Metallic Black #6309.3) Make a periodic check of burner for properposition and condition. Visually check theflame of the burner periodically, making surethe flames are steady; not lifting or floating. Ifthere is a problem, call an authorized serviceperson.4) The appliance and flueing system must beinspected before use, and at least annually, byan authorized field service person, to ensurethat the flow of combustion and ventilation airis not obstructed.During the annual service call, the burnersshould be removed from the burner tray andcleaned. Replace the embers - do not blockthe burner ports.5) Keep the area near the appliance clear andfree from combustible materials, gasoline andother flammable vapours and liquids.6) Verify proper operation after servicing.The unit should never be used with broken logs.Unplug the power cord and allow the unit to coolbefore opening door to carefully remove the logs.If for any reason a log should need replacement,you must use the proper replacement log. Theposition of these logs must be as shown in thediagram under Log Installation.Note: Improper positioning of logs maycreate carbon build-up and will alterthe unit’s performance which is notcovered under warranty.DOOR GLASSREPLACEMENTYour Regency stove is supplied with high tem-perature, 5 mm Neoceram ceramic glass thatwill withstand the highest heat that your unit willproduce. In the event that you break your glassby impact, purchase your replacement from anauthorised Regency dealer only, and follow ourstep-by-step instructions for replacement.WARNING: do not operate appliancewith the glass front removed, crackedor broken. Replacement of the glassshould be done by a licensed or au-thorised service person.Flush Glass ReplacementSlide old glass out of the side frames and replacewith new glass.GLASS GASKETIf the glass gasket requires replacement useglass gasket (Part # 936-233).CHILDREN AND ADULTS SHOULD BEALERTED TO THE HAZARDS OF HIGHSURFACE TEMPERATURES, ESPE-CIALLY THE FIREPLACE GLASS, ANDSHOULD STAY AWAY TO AVOID BURNSOR CLOTHING IGNITION.INSTALLATION AND REPAIR SHOULDBE DONE BY AN AUTHORIZEDSERVICE PERSON. THE APPLIANCESHOULD BE INSPECTED BEFOREUSE AND AT LEAST ANNUALLY BY APROFESSIONAL SERVICE PERSON.MORE FREQUENT CLEANING MAYBE REQUIRED DUE TO EXCESSIVELINT FROM CARPETING, BEDDINGMATERIAL, ETC. IT IS IMPERATIVETHATCONTROL COMPARTMENTS, BURNERSAND CIRCULATING AIR PASSAGEWAYSOF THE APPLIANCE BE KEPT CLEAN.DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, THEAPPLIANCE SHOULD BE LOCATEDOUT OF TRAFFIC AND AWAY FROMFURNITURE AND DRAPERIES.WARNING: FAILURE TO INSTALL THISAPPLIANCE CORRECTLY WILL VOIDYOUR WARRANTY AND MAY CAUSE ASERIOUS HOUSE FIRE.CLOTHING OR OTHER FLAMMABLEMATERIAL SHOULD NOT BE PLACEDON OR NEAR THE APPLIANCE.YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE CARE-FULLY SUPERVISED WHEN THEY AREIN THE SAME AREA AS THE APPLI-ANCE.
