Neveroperate the appliance with the door glassremoved.5) Verify that all venting and the cap is unob-structed.6) Verify log placement. If the pilot cannot be seenwhen lighting the unit - the logs or the embershave been incorrectly positioned.7) The unit should never be turned off and onagain without a minimum of a 60 second wait.8) When lighting the appliance, the inside of theglass may fog up. This will burn off after a fewminutes of operation.OPTIONAL WALLTHERMOSTATA wall thermostat may be installed if desired. Con-nect the wires as per the wiring diagrams. Notethat the wires are connected to the "TH" on thegas valve. Use table on page 14 to determine themaximum wire length:Note: Preferable if the thermostat is installedon an interior wall.FPI offers an optional programmable thermostatbut any 250-750 millivolt rated non-anticipatortype thermostat that is CSA, ULC or UL approvedmay be used.CAUTIONDo not connect the millivoltremote control wires tothe 120V wires.FINAL CHECKBefore leaving this unit with the customer, theinstaller must ensure that the appliance is firingcorrectly. This includes:1) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correctfiring rate (rate noted on label) at 15 minutes.2) If required, adjusting the primary air to ensurethat the flame does not carbon. To ensure that the paint is properly cured,it is recommended that you burn your fireplace for atleast four (4) hours the first time you use it with thefan on. When first operated, the unit will release anodour caused by the curing of the paint, the burn-ing off of any oils remaining from manufacturing.Smoke detectors in the house may go off at thistime. Open a few windows to ventilate the room fora couple of hours.The glass panel may require cleaning after the unithas cooled down.DO NOT AT TEMPT TO CLEAN THE GLASSWHILE IT IS HOT.Note: When the glass is cold and the applianceis lit, it may cause condensation and fogthe glass.
