INSTRUCTIONRCFM-230TD1i Instruction for products with software version1.3. Read this instruction before installation andwiring of the product.Consult documentation in all cases where this symbolis used, in order to find out the nature of the potentialhazards and any actions to be takenRCFM-230TDRoom controller for controlling fan-coil unitsRCFM-230TD is a room controller intended for controlling fan-coilheaters/coolers and thermal actuators or 3-point actuators. Instal-lation is directly on the wall or on an electrical connection box. Thecontroller does not have a communication connection. The fan can beset to one of three speeds.RCFM-230TD has change-over function and should be used for2-pipe systems.Technical dataSupply voltage 230 V AC ±10 %, 50/60 HzPower consumption < 3 WAmbient temperature 0...50°CAmbient humidity Max 90 % RHStorage temperature -20...+70°CBuilt-in temperature sensor NTC type, range 0...50°CInputs Refer to connection illustrations andtable belowOutputs Relays for fan control, 230 V AC, 3 ADO4, DO5 for actuators, Triac, 230 V AC,max. 300 mATerminal blocks Lift type for a maximum cable area 2.1 mm2Protection class IP20Pollution degree 2Overvoltage category 3Material casing Polycarbonate, PCDimensions 102 x 120 x 29 mmInstallationPlace the controller in a location that has a temperature representative forthe room. A suitable location is approx. 1.6 m above floor level in a placewith unobstructed air circulation.Depress the locking tab in the upper edge of the controller with ascrewdriver. Carefully turn the screwdriver until the bottom plate and theelectronics unit are slightly separated (see figure 1). Then use the cutoutthat becomes visible in the edge of the bottom plate to open the upperedge completely (see figure 2). Do the same thing in the lower edge of thecontroller.Figure 1 Figure 2Lift the electronics unit up from the bottom plate. The bottom plate withterminals has a number of hole combinations. Select suitable holes andfasten the bottom plate on the wall or connection box, so that the arrowson the bottom plate point upwards. Do not tighten the screws too hard!DisconnectionRCFM-230TD should be connected to a switch or circuit breaker in thebuilding installation. This switch should be in close proximity to the con-troller and within easy reach of the operator, and should be marked as thedisconnecting device for the equipment.Always use the circuit breaker to disconnect the controller from the mainssupply during maintenance of the fan-coil and actuators.SettingsControl modesRCFM-230TD has, via a button on the controller, seasonal switchingbetween heating and cooling (change-over, see below).Change-over functionRCFM-230TD has a function for change-over via the M button on thecontroller. By pressing the M button, you choose whether output DO4should operate with heating or cooling function. When the controller isused together with a 3-position actuator, output DO5 is also affectedby the change-over function in accordance with the above.Operating modeThere are four different operating modes. Switching between thesemodes is performed locally.Comfort: is shown in the display. Heating and cooling have asmaller neutral zone. Switching between Comfort/Economy and Off isdone via the fan button. Comfort/Economy is selected via the param-eter list and can be controlled by input DI.Economy (Standby): “Standby” is shown in the display. The heat-ing and cooling setpoints are freely adjustable. Factory settings:heating=15°C, cooling=30°C.Off: The controller does not heat or cool and the fan stops (unlessmould protection has been selected, in which case the fan will stillrun).Window: is shown in the display, the controller is off and the fanstops (unless mould protection has been selected, in which case thefan will still run). The window contact is connected to the DI and mustbe configured.Occupancy detectionParameter 3 determines if the DI is window contact input oroccupancy detection input. An occupancy detector can be connectedto the DI in order to switch between Comfort and Economy mode.SetpointThe setpoint is set using the INCREASE and DECREASE buttons.Parameter 24 determines what is shown in the display. Refer to theparameter list for details.Setpoint limitationIn parameters 34 and 35, it is possible to set the maximum allowedsetpoint increase and decrease respectively.Example: If P35=5 and P34=3, the setpoint can be changed between17°C and 25°C (see the picture below). The basic setpoint can be changed in parameter 64 (factorysetting=22°C).7435NOCT 14EN |
