The Saeco coffeemachine is equipped with a self-adjustingsystem that allows the use of all types ofcoffee beans available on the market (noncaramelised).• The machine automatically adjustsitself in order to optimise the extrac-tion of the coffee, ensuring perfectcompression of the tablet to obtain acreamy espresso coffee that will releaseall the aromas, regardless of the type ofcoffee used.• The optimisation process is a learningprocess that requires the brewing of acertain number of coffees to allow themachine to adjust the compactness ofthe ground coffee.• Attention should be given to specialblends, which require grinder adjust-ments in order to optimise the extrac-tion of the coffee - (see section CoffeeGrinder Adjustment).Coffee Grinder AdjustmentWarning! The grinder adjust-ment knob, inside the coffeebean hopper, must be turned onlywhen the grinder is working. Do notpour ground and/or instant coffeeinto the coffee bean hopper.Do not insert any materialother than coffee beans intothe hopper. The grinder containsmoving parts that may be dangerous.Therefore, do not insert fi ngers and/or other objects. The grind settingmay only be adjusted using the knob.Turn off the machine and unplug itfrom the socket before carrying outany type of operation inside the cof-fee bean hopper. Do not pour coffeebeans when the coffee grinder isworking.The machine allows slight adjustments tothe coffee grinder to adapt it to the kindof coffee used.To make any adjustment, press and turnthe knob inside the coffee bean hopper.Press and turn the knob by one notch ata time and brew 2-3 cups of coffee; thisis the only way to notice differences ingrind.The reference marks inside the coffeebean hopper indicate the grind setting.There are 5 different grind settings tochoose from with the following refer-ences:Large Mark - Coarse GrindSmall Mark - Fine Grind.Adjusting the Coffee LengthThe machine allows you to adjust theamount of brewed coffee according toyour taste and/or the size of your cups.Each time the “ ” or “ ” button ispressed and released, the machine brewsa pre-set amount of coffee. This amountmay be reprogrammed to your taste.
