6 EB 2517 ENInstallation(5.1). The upstream pressure p1 is transmit-ted through the compensation chamber (18)and control line (17) to the operating dia-phragm (12) where it is converted into a po-sitioning force. For actuator versions with abellows, the pressure is transmitted to the op-erating bellows (12.1). The positioning forceis used to move the valve plug according tothe force of the positioning springs (7). Thespring force is adjustable at the set point ad-juster (6). Valves with KVS 4 and higher fea-ture a balancing bellows (4). The upstreampressure acts on the outside of the bellowsand the downstream pressure on the insideof the bellows. As a result, the forces pro-duced by the upstream and downstreampressures acting on the plug are balanced.Depending on the valve and actuator used, the regulator can be upgraded to create asafety excess pressure valve.4 Installation4.1 AssemblySee Fig. 1 on page 7.Valve and actuator can be assembled beforeor after the valve has been installed in thepipeline.Push the diaphragm actuator (10) with actu-ator stem (11) through the hole in the cross-beam (8) onto the spigots of the bellows(5.1). Align it and fasten with nuts (widthacross flats 16, 9) onto the valve flange (ap-prox. 25 Nm).For metal bellows actuators in DN 15 to 50,remove the crossbeam (8) from the valve.Push the actuator stem (11) onto the spigotsof the bellows (5.1). Align the pillars (8.1)and fasten with nuts (width across flats 24,8.2) to the actuator (max. 60 Nm).For metal bellows actuators in DN 65 to100, remove the crossbeam (8) from thevalve and unscrew the pillars (8.1). Screwthe pillars into the threaded holes (8.3) of theactuator flange as far as they will go. Pushthe actuator with actuator stem (11) onto thespigots of the bellows (5.1). Fasten the pillarswith nuts (width across flats 24, 8.2) onto thevalve flange (max. 60 Nm).1 Valve body2 Seat3 Plug4 Balancing bellows5 Plug stem5.1 Bellows6 Set point adjuster7 Set point springs8 Bracket8.1 Pillar8.2 Nuts for pillars8.3 Tapped holes9 Fastening nuts10 Diaphragm actuator11 Actuator stem12 Operating diaphragm12.1Operating bellows13 Diaphragm plate14 Nut15 Nuts and bolts16 Control line connection G ¼ (for steam includingscrew joint with restriction)17 Control line installed on site (control line kit availablefor tapping the pressure directly at the valve body, see T 2595)18 Compensation chamber19 Filler plug
