Messaging 41MessagingMessagingNow you can exchange text and multimedia messages right from your phone andstay connected without saying a word. Within the Messaging menu you can alsoview the number of voicemail messages you have waiting for you. For moreinformation on using your phone’s voicemail feature, see “Voicemail” on page 44.The following folders are available in the Messaging menu:• (1) Send Message: Allows you to send text and picture messages.• (2) Text & Pic Msg: Allows you to reply to new text messages, as well ascheck your Inbox.• (3) Web Alert: Allows you to automatically receive web alerts to yourInbox.• (4) Voicemail: Allows you to view or listen to any voice messages saved inthe phone.• (5) Settings: Allows you to configure the messaging options.Text MessagingWith text messaging, you can use a person’s wireless phone number to sendinstant text messages from your phone to their messaging-ready phone, and theycan send messages to you. When you receive a new message, you willautomatically be notified with a one-way text message.In addition, messaging includes a variety of preset messages, such as “Where areyou?” that make composing messages fast and easy.To send a text message:1. Press for Menu.2. Select Messaging.3. Select Send Message.4. Enter a recipient in the following ways:• To enter a phone number or email address, use the keypad to enterthe number. When you are finished, press .• To send your text message to multiple numbers or addresses, enterthe phone number or email address again. When you are finished,press . You can send a text message to a maximum of 10numbers.
