We suggest that you read this user guide tofully understand the services that your phone supports.Turning your phone onWhen you are ready to turn your phone on, fully extend the antenna for theclearest reception. Press . Continue to hold this key down for more thanone second to power the phone on:Note: Your phone has a built-in antenna. As with any other radio-transmittingdevice, do not touch the antenna as it affects call quality and can cause thephone to operate at a higher power level than is necessary.The LED indicator momentarily lights, and a power-up alert sounds. The phonebegins searching for a network signal. When a signal is found, the date, day,and time appears. Your phone is now ready to place and receive calls.If the phone is outside of your carriers coverage or roaming area, the icondisplays. If this happens you cannot place or receive calls. You must try laterwhen service becomes available. For further information see “The top line ofthe display screen” on page 33Turning your phone offTo turn your phone off, press and hold for more than two seconds.Notice that when the phone is turned off, both the display screen and thebacklight remain off.Note: If your phone is on, and is pressed for less than one second,the phone will not power off. This feature prevents your phone from beingturned off accidentally.
