If you install the product on your own or by unqualifiedperson, Samsung is not responsible for any damages which may occur due to incorrect installation. Make sure to read the following safety precautions carefully before installation. Make sure to observe the cautions specified in this manual. Conduct a test run of the unit after installation and then explain all system functions to the owner. The indications and meanings are as shown below.WARNING Hazards or unsafe practices that may result in severe personal injury or death. Installation must be carriedout by a qualified installer.Do not attempt to repair,move, modify or reinstall theunit on your own since suchact may cause fire, electricshock or water leakage. Install the unit in a placewhere it is strong enoughto hold the product weight.When installed in placewhere it is not strong enoughto withhold the productweight, the unit could falland cause injury. The unit should beinstalled in accordancewith the National Electricalregulations. Check if thevoltage and the frequency ofthe main power supply arethose required for the unitto be installed and check theconnection. Avoid the use ofan extension cord and do notshare the power outlet withother appliances. Incompleteconnection, defectiveinsulation or exceeding thepermissible current maycause electric shock or fire. Use the specified wires toconnect the indoor andoutdoor units securely andattach the wires firmly to theterminal block connectingsections so that the pressureis not applied to the sections.Inappropriate connectionand fixing could cause fire. Attach the electrical cover tothe indoor and outdoor unitsecurely without any gaps.If there are any gaps, there ispotential risk of fire or electricshock due to dust or water. Make sure to use the partprovided or specified parts forthe installation work. The useof defective parts could causean injury or leakage of waterdue to a fire, an electric shock,the unit falling, etc. Make sure that therefrigerant gas does notleak after completing theinstallation.If the refrigerant gas ofthe indoor unit leaks andcomes into contact with thefan heater, space heater orstove, harmful gas will begenerated. Ensure that the nationalsafety code requirementshave been followed for themain supply circuit. Ensurethat a proper ground wire isin place.Do not connect the groundto a gas pipe, water pipe,lightning rod or telephonegrounding. Defectivegrounding could causeelectric shock. Do not install the unit in aplace with direct sunlight,dangerous substancesor where it is exposed toinflammable gas leakageto prevent explosion, fire orpersonal injury. Perform the installationsecurely referring tothe installation manual.Incomplete installationcould cause personal injurydue to fire, electric shockand water leakage or fromthe unit falling. Before connecting thepower plug and powerreceptacle check for dust,loose or blocked. Make surethat plug is fully inserted.Dusted power plug,blocked or loosened powerreceptacle may cause fireor electric shock. Exchangethe power receptacle if it isloose. Check first the followingsituations before startingthe operation during theinstallation.- The pipe must be properlyconnected and make surethere is no leakage.- Service valves must be open.If compressor is operatedwith the service valveclosed, excessive pressuremay damage parts of thecompressor.If leakage occurs on any ofthe connection, air inflowmay also cause excessivepressure that could lead toexplosion. Keep this installation manual together with the user’s manual in a handy place so that you can find it wheneveryou need to see it after reading this manual thoroughly.
