There may be asmall delay before captions appear whenyou change channels. These are notmalfunctions of the TV.3Press the ENTER button,then press the ▲ or ▼button to turn closedcaptioning “On” or “Off”.Press the ENTER button.▼ In “Caption” mode, captions appearat the bottom of the screen, and they usu-ally cover only a small portion of thepicture.In “Text” mode, information unrelated tothe program, such as news or weather, isdisplayed. Text often covers a largeportion of the screen.4Press the ▼ button toselect “Mode”, then pressthe ENTER button.Press the ▲ or ▼ buttonto select “Captions” or“Text”, then press theENTER button.Viewing Closed CaptionsYour TV decodes and displays the closed captions that are broadcast with certain TV shows.These captions are usually subtitles for the hearing impaired or foreign-language translations.All VCRs record the closed caption signal from television programs, so home-recorded videotapes also provide closed captions. Most pre-recorded commercial video tapes provide closedcaptions as well.
