Basics19You can use the following charms:• Search: Search for data in applications.• Share: Share files with others.• Start: Return to the Start screen or open the most recent application.• Devices: Share files with connected devices.• Settings: Access the settings panel to configure settings for the device or applications.Using applicationsThis device can run many different types of applications, ranging from media to Internetapplications. Some applications are available only in Windows desktop mode.Opening an applicationOn the Start screen or the Applications screen, tap an application icon to open it.Opening the most recent applicationFlick from the left edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen to open the mostrecent application.Switching applicationsFlick inward from the left edge of the screen and then back again to open the list of activeapplications.To deactivate this feature, flick from the right edge of the screen towards the middle of thescreen, tap Settings → Change PC settings → General, and then drag the Allow switchingbetween recent apps switch to the left.
