Getting started28› Lock your SIM or USIM cardYou can lock your device by activating the PIN suppliedwith your SIM or USIM card.In Menu mode, select1 Settings → Security.Select2 PIN lock.Enter the PIN of your SIM or USIM card and select3 Done.Once the PIN lock is enabled, you must enter the PIN eachtime you turn on the device.If you enter an incorrect PIN too many times, your•SIM or USIM card will be blocked. You must entera PIN unlock key (PUK) to unblock the SIM or USIMcard.If you block your SIM or USIM card by entering•an incorrect PUK, bring the card to your serviceprovider to unblock it.› Lock your deviceYou can lock your device by activating the devicepassword.In Menu mode, select1 Settings → Security.Select2 Phone lock.Enter a new 4- to 8-digit password and select3 Done.Enter the new password again and select4 Done.The first time you access a menu that requires apassword, you will be prompted to create andconfirm a password.Once the device lock is enabled, you must enter thepassword each time you turn on the device.If you forget your password, bring your device to a•Samsung Service Centre to unlock it.Samsung is not responsible for any loss of•passwords or private information or otherdamages caused by illegal software.
