Wi-Fi OptionsThe Wi-Fi settings menu allows you to set up manyof your device’s advanced Wi-Fi services.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings.2. Tap Wi-Fi, and then tap ON/OFF to turn Wi-Fi on.3. Tap Smart network switch to connectautomatically to a mobile network connectionwhen the Wi-Fi connection is unstable.4. Tap More options for these settings:• Scan: Manually scan for nearby Wi-Finetworks.• Wi-Fi Direct: Connect to nearby devices usingWi-Fi Direct.• Advanced:- Network notification: Receive a notificationwhen new Wireless Access Points (WAPs)are available.- Passpoint: Connect to passpoint-enabledWi-Fi Access Points automatically.- Sort by: Sort networks alphabetically or bysignal strength.- Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Specify whento disconnect from Wi-Fi.- Always allow scanning: Allow Googlelocation service and other apps to scan fornetworks, even when Wi-Fi is turned off.- Auto connect: Automatically connect toa Wi-Fi Hotspot as soon as your phonedetects it.- Install certificates: Install authenticationcertificates.- MAC address: View your device’sMAC address, which is required whenconnecting to some secured networks(not configurable).- IP address: View your device’s IP address(not configurable).• WPS push button: Set up a connection to aWPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) router or otherequipment.• WPS PIN entry: View the PIN used by yourdevice to set up a PIN-secured connectionto a Wi-Fi router or other equipment (notconfigurable).• Share Wi-Fi profile: Share Wi-Fi profiles youhave created with others.• Help: Learn about setting up and using Wi-Finetworks, and other settings.Wi-Fi DirectWi-Fi Direct allows direct device-to-deviceconnections via Wi-Fi, without having to connect to aWi-Fi network.1.
