Changing Your Settings 90Section 8: Changing Your SettingsThis section explains the various settings for your phone.Wireless and NetworkAirplane modeFlight mode allows you to use phone features that do not requirewireless communication when you are in an airplane or in anyother area where calls and data transfer are prohibited.Note: Flight mode is also called Airplane mode in other areas of the phone(notifications panel and the Phone options menu accessed by pressingand holding the power/lock key).Important!: When your phone is in Flight mode, it cannot send or receive anycalls or access online information or applications.1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Wireless andnetwork.2. Tap Airplane mode. A check mark displayed next to thefeature indicates Airplane mode is active. The Airplanemode icon is displayed at the top of your screen.Wi-Fi settingsOnce set up for Wi-Fi connectivity, your phone automatically usesWi-Fi, when available, for all your mobile data services.1. Configure the settings as desired.Wi-FiTo turn Wi-Fi on: From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Wireless andnetwork ➔ Wi-Fi Settings ➔ Wi-Fi. A check mark indicatesthat Wi-Fi is active.Network NotificationBy default, when Wi-Fi is on, you receive notifications in the Statusbar anytime your phone detects an available Wi-Fi network.
