It also includes the features andfunctionality associated with messaging.Types of MessagesYour phone provides the following message types:• Text Messages• Multimedia (Picture, Video, and Audio) Messages• Email and Gmail Messages• Google Talk• Google + and Messenger• ChatONThe Short Message Service (SMS) lets you send and receivetext messages to and from other mobile phones or emailaddresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe toyour service provider’s message service.The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) lets you send andreceive multimedia messages (such as picture, video, andaudio messages) to and from other mobile phones or emailaddresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe toyour service provider’s multimedia message service.Important! When creating a message, adding an image, asound file, or a video clip to a text messagechanges the message from a text message to amultimedia message.Messaging icons are displayed at the top of the screen andindicate when messages are received and their type. Formore information, refer to “Indicator Icons” on page 21.Creating and Sending Messages1. From the main Home screen, tap Messaging ➔Compose.Note: The main Home screen initially contains the Messagingicon. If you delete it, or if you want to accessMessaging from another Home screen, you must tapApplications ➔ Messaging .2. Tap on the Enter recipient field to manually enter arecipient or tap to select a recipient from yourGroups, Favorites, Contacts, or Logs.
