25Entering TextYour device uses a virtual QWERTY keyboard for text entry.Use the keyboard to enter letters, punctuation, numbers, andother characters into text entry fields or applications. Accessthe keyboard by touching any text entry field.You can also use voice input to speak your inputs.The virtual QWERTY keyboard displays at the bottom of thescreen. By default, when you rotate the device, the screenorientation updates to display the keyboard at the bottom ofthe screen.Choose a Text InputYour phone offers three text input methods:• Google voice typing allows you to speak your entries.• Samsung keyboard allows you to enter text by touching keys ona virtual QWERTY keyboard. Samsung keyboard includes optionalpredictive text, which matches your key touches to commonwords so you can select a word to insert it into your text.• Swype lets you enter words by swiping across the virtualQWERTY keyboard. Instead of tapping each key, use your finger totrace over each letter of a word. You can also tap letters toenter words.Select a Default Text Input MethodYou can select a default Text Input Method from Settings, orchoose on at any time while entering text.From Settings1.
