Entering Text 88Using the Google Voice TypingThis feature uses Google voice recognition to convert yourspoken words into on-screen text.You can use your voice to enter text using the Google Voicetyping feature.You can use your voice to enter text using the Google Voicetyping feature.1. From the keyboard, touch the top of the screen anddrag it down to display your notification panel.2. Tap (Choose input method) ➔ Google voicetyping.3. At the Listening prompt (Speak now), speakclearly and distinctly into the microphone.The text is displayed in the message as you arespeaking.4. Tap (Done) when you are finished.– or –Tap (Resume) to resume recognition.Note: The feature works best when you break your messagedown into smaller segments.Configure Google Voice Typing1. From the Home screen, press and then tapSettings ➔ Language and input.– or –From a screen where you can enter text, in a singlemotion, touch and drag the Status bar down to thebottom of the screen, then select (Choose inputmethod) ➔ Set up input methods.2. Tap (adjacent to the Google voice typing field).3. Select a language by tapping Choose input languagesarea.4. Remove the check mark from the Automatic field. Thisallows you to select additional languages.5. Select the desired languages.6. Activate Block offensive words to block recognition ofknown offensive words or language. (A green checkmark indicates the feature is active).7. Tap Download offline speech recognition to enable speechrecognition via locally stored files so that even if youare not connected to a network you can still use theservice.
