36 Camera and VideoApplicationsTake PhotosTake photos with your device’s front or rear camera,or combine shots with Dual mode.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Camera.2. Using the display screen as a viewfinder,compose your shot by aiming the camera at thesubject. While composing your photo, use theonscreen options, or these gestures:• Tap the screen with two fingers and pinch orspread them on the screen to zoom in or out.• Tap the screen to focus on the area youtouched.3. Tap Take picture, or press the Volume key upor down to take the photo.Shooting ModesSeveral photo effects are available. Some modes arenot available when taking self-portraits.1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Camera.2. Tap MODE and select a shooting mode:Both cameras• Auto: Allow the camera to evaluate thesurroundings and determine the ideal modefor the photo.• Beauty face: Enhance facial featuresautomatically when taking pictures.• Sound & shot: Enrich pictures by addingbackground sounds for a few seconds.Rear camera only• Panorama: Take a photo composed of manyphotos strung together.• Continuous shot: Take pictures continuouslyby pressing and holding the Camera button.• Sports: Take pictures of fast movement.Camera Settings1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Camera.2. Tap Settings to configure settings for Camera.Note: Not all of the following options are available inboth camera and video camera modes. The availableoptions also vary depending on the camera used.Quick settings (on the viewfinder)• Effect: Add special graphical effects.• Timer: Take time-delayed pictures or videos.• Picture size: Select a resolution. Use higherresolution for higher quality.Rear camera only• Video size: Select a resolution. Use higherresolution for higher quality.• View mode: View your photos and video instandard ratio or use the full screen.Front camera only• Gesture control: Detect palm andautomatically take a picture two seconds later.• Save as horizontally flipped: Save theself-portrait or self-recording as a reversed(or ‘mirrored’) image.Both cameras• Grid lines: Display viewfinder grid lines to helpcomposition when selecting subjects.• Location tags: Attach a GPS location tag tothe picture.• Review pictures: Set to show pictures aftertaking them.• Storage location: Select the memory locationfor storage.• Volume keys function: Use the Volume keyas the camera key, the record key, or as azoom key.• Shutter sound: Enable or disable a shuttersound when pictures are taken.• Reset settings: Reset the camera settings.• Help: View information on using the camera.Note: Higher resolution pictures and videos use morememory.DRAFTFOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
