4 Assemble Your DeviceGetting StartedAssemble Your DevicePrior to use, install the SIM cardand optional memory card(not included), and charge thebattery.Install the SIM Card1. When you subscribe to a cellular network, youare provided with a plug-in SIM card. Duringactivation, your SIM card will be loaded with yoursubscription details, such as your PIN, availableoptional services, and other features.Warning: The plug-in SIM card information and itscontacts can be easily damaged by scratching orbending, so be careful when handling, inserting, orremoving the card. Keep all SIM cards out of reach ofsmall children.► Carefully slide the SIM card into the SIM cardslot until the card locks into place.Make sure that the card’s gold contacts face intothe device and that the angled corner of the cardis positioned as shown.Caution: If the card is not inserted correctly, thedevice will not detect the SIM card. Re-orient thecard and place it back into the slot if the SIM isnot detected.Install a Memory CardYou can install an optional microSD or microSDHCmemory card (not included) to expand availablememory space.Note: A memory card can be installed at any time; itis not necessary to install it prior to using the device.For more information on installing a memory card,see Install a Memory Card.Charge the BatteryYour device is powered by a rechargeable, standardLi-Ion battery. A Wall/USB Charger (charging headand USB cable) is included with the device forcharging the battery from any standard outlet.The battery comes partially charged. A fullydischarged battery requires up to four hours ofcharge time. You can use the device while charging.Caution: Use only Samsung-approved chargingdevices and batteries. Samsung accessories aredesigned to maximize battery life. Using otheraccessories may invalidate your warranty and maycause damage.1. Insert the USB cable into the port.2. Connect the USB cable to the charging head,and then plug the charging head into a standardoutlet.
