4 Assemble Your DeviceGetting StartedThis section helps you toassemble your device.Install a Memory CardYou can install an optional microSD or microSDHCmemory card (not included) to expand availablememory space.Note: A memory card can be installed at any time; itis not necessary to install it prior to using the device.For more information on installing a memory card,see Install a Memory Card.Charge the BatteryYour device is powered by a rechargeable, standardLi-Ion battery. A Wall/USB Charger (charging headand USB cable) is included with the device forcharging the battery from any standard outlet.The battery comes partially charged. A fullydischarged battery requires up to four hours ofcharge time. You can use the device while charging.Caution: Use only Samsung-approved chargingdevices. Samsung accessories are designed tomaximize battery life. Using other accessories mayinvalidate your warranty and may cause damage.1. Insert the USB cable into the port.2. Connect the USB cable to the charginghead, and then plug the charging head into astandard outlet.3. When charging is complete, unplug the charginghead from the outlet and remove the USB cablefrom the device.When to Charge the BatteryWhen the battery is weak and only a few minutesof operation remain, the battery icon ( ) blinksand the device sounds a warning tone at regularintervals.In this condition, your device conserves itsremaining battery power by dimming the screen.When the battery level becomes too low, the deviceautomatically turns off.► For a quick check of your battery level, view thebattery charge indicator located in the upper-right corner of your device’s display. A solidcolor ( ) indicates a full charge.You can also choose to display a percentagevalue. Viewing a percentage value can providea better idea of the remaining charge on thebattery.
