7170Using the V-ChipThe V-Chip feature automatically locks out programming that is deemed inappropriate for chil-dren.The user must first enter a PIN (personal ID number) before any of the V-Chip restrictions can beset up or changed.Note: The V-chip doesn’t function when the Picture-in-Picture is active.Setting Up Your Personal ID Number (PIN)1 Press the Menu button. Movethe joystick down to selectSETUP, then press the joystickto enter.Quick way to access theV-chip: Just press “V-chip” onthe remote control.2 Move the joystick down toselect V-chip, then press thejoystick to enter.The “Enter PIN” screen willappear. Enter your 4-digit PINnumber.Note: The default PIN numberfor a new TV set is “0-0-0-0.”3 After entering a valid PINnumber, the “V-chip” screenwill appear.Move the joystick down toselect “Change PIN”, thenpress the joystick to enter. TheChange pin screen willappear. Choose any 4-digitsfor your PIN and enter them.As soon as the 4 digits areentered, the “Confirm newPIN” screen appears.Press MENU to exit.NOTE• If you forget the PIN, press the remote-control keys in the following sequence, which resets thepin to 0-0-0-0: POWER OFF → Mute → 8 → 2 → 4 → POWER ON.Selecting the Sound SourceYou can use this feature to hear sound from the Main or PIP screen.1 Press the Menu button. Movethe joystick down to selectPIP, then press the joystick toenter.2 Move the joystick down toselect “Sound Select”.3 Move the joystick to the right orleft to switch Main or Sub audiosource.
