This video productshould never be placed near or over a radiator orheat register.This video product should not be placedin a built-in installation such as a bookcaseor rack unless proper ventilation is providedor the manufacturer's instructions have beenfollowed.POWER CORD PROTECTIONPower-supply cords should be routed so thatthey are not likely to be walked on or pinchedby items placed upon or against them payingparticular attention to cords at plugs,convenience receptacles, and the point wherethey exit from the appliance.CLEANINGUnplug this video product from the wall outletbefore cleaning. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.LIGHTNINGFor added protection of this video productreceiver during a lightning storm, or whenit is left unattended and unused for longperiods of time, unplug it from the wall outletand disconnect the antenna or cable system.This will prevent damage to the video productdue to lightning and power-line surges.OBJECT AND LIQUID ENTRYNever push objects of any kind into thisproduct through openings as they may touchdangerous voltage points or short-out partsthat could result in a fire or electric shock.Never spill liquid of any kind on the videoproduct.ACCESSORIESDo not place this video product on an unstable cart,stand, tripod, bracket, or table.The video product may fall, causing serious injury toa child or adult, and serious damageto the appliance.Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket,or table recommended by the manufacturer,or sold with the video product. Any mountingof the appliance should follow the manufacturer'sinstructions and should use a mounting accessoryrecommended by the manufacturer.CARTAn appliance and cart combination should be movedwith care. Quick stops, excessive force, and unevensurfaces may cause the appliance and cartcombination to overturn.POWER SOURCESThis video product should be operated only from thetype of power source indicatedon the marking label. If you are not sureof the type of supply to your home, consult yourappliance dealer or local power company.For video products intended to be operated frombattery power, or other sources, referto the operating instructions.POWER LINESAn outside antenna system should not be located inthe vicinity of overhead power lines or other electriclight or power circuits,or where it can fall into such power linesor circuits. When installing an outside antennasystem, extreme care should be taken to keep fromtouching such power lines or circuits as contact withthem might be fatal.POLARIZATIONThis video product is equipped with a polarizedalternating current line plug (a plug having one bladewider than the other.) This plug will fit into the poweroutlet only one way.This is a safety feature. If you are unableto insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing theplug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact yourelectrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do notdefeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING•If an outside antenna is connected to theantenna terminal, be sure the antenna systemis grounded so as to provide some protectionagainst voltage surges and built-up staticcharges.•In the U.S.A section 810 of the NationalElectrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 70-1984,provides information with respect to propergrounding of the mast and supportingstructure, grounding of the lead-in wireto an antenna discharge unit, size of groundingconductors location of antenna discharge unit,connection to grounding electrodes, andrequirements for the grounding electrode.See the figure below.ATTACHMENTSDo not use attachments not recommendedby the video product manufacturer as they maycause hazards.SERVICING•Do not attempt to service this product yourselfas opening or removing covers may exposeyou to dangerous voltage or other hazards.• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.REPLACEMENT PARTSWhen replacement parts are required, be sure theservice technician has used replacement partsspecified by the manufacturer or having the samecharacteristics as the original part. Unauthorizedsubstitutions may result in fire, electric shock or otherhazards.SAFETY CHECKUpon completion of any service or repairsto this video product, ask the service technician toperform safety checks to determine that the videoproduct is in proper operating condition.DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICEUnplug this video product from the wall outlet andrefer servicing to qualified service personnel under thefollowing conditions.a.
