1 English Using the MenusSupportOption DescriptionSelf Diagnosis Signal Information (digital channels only)Unlike analogue channels, which can vary in receptionquality from ‘snowy’ to clear, digital (HDTV) channels haveeither perfect reception quality or you will not receive themat all. So, unlike analogue channels, you cannot fine tunea digital channel. You can, however, adjust your antenna toimprove the reception of available digital channels.■Software Upgrade To keep your product up-to-date with new Digital Televisionfeatures then software upgrades are periodically broadcastas part of the normal Television signal. It will automaticallydetect these signals and display the software upgradebanner. You are given the option to install the upgrade.By USBInsert a USB drive containing the firmware upgradedownloaded from samsung.com into the TV. Please becareful to not disconnect the power or remove the USBdrive while upgrades are being applied. The TV will turnoff and turn on automatically after completing the firmwareupgrade. Please check the firmware version after theupgrades are complete (the new version will have ahigher number than the older version). When software isupgraded, video and audio settings you have made willreturn to their default (factory) settings. We recommend youwrite down your settings so that you can easily resetthem after the upgrade.By ChannelUpgrades the software using the broadcasting signal.Standby Mode UpgradeTo continue software upgrade with master power on,Select On by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. 45 minutes afterentering standby mode, a manual upgrade is automaticallyconducted. Since the power of the unit is turned oninternally, the screen may be on slightly for the LCDproduct. This phenomenon may continue for more than 1hour until the software upgrade is completed.Alternative SoftwareTo display the software version information.HD Connection GuideThis menu presents the connection method that providesthe optimal quality for the HD TV. Refer to this informationwhen connecting external devices to the TV.Contact SamsungView this information when your TV does not work properlyor when you want to upgrade the software.
