36 Section 2A: Your Phone: The BasicsSaving a Phone NumberThe Contacts list can store a maximum of 299 phone numbers in total, witheach contact entry containing a maximum of 5 phone numbers. Eachentry’s name can contain up to 20 characters.Your phone automatically sorts the Contacts entries alphabetically. (Formore information, see Section 2F: Using Contacts on page 93.)To save a number from standby mode:1. Enter a phone number and press .2. Select New Entry or Existing Entry and press .3. Use your navigation key to select a label(Mobile, Home, Work, Pager, orOthers) and press .4. Enter a name for the entry using thenumeric keys. Type in the first characterand then press to select the desiredentry method T9(English), Alpha,Symbol, or Number. (See “EnteringText” on page 40.)5. When you have finished entering the name, press to return tothe Contacts entry.6. Select Done ( ) to save the entry. You are then notified if thenumber was successfully added.Note: The New Entry screen is not displayed for the first entry saved in theContacts. Skip to step 3 if you are entering the first number in theContacts.If Existing Entry was selected, press OK to launch the Find screen.
