Status Bar Icons provide information about your phone’s status and options, suchas signal strength, roaming, ringer setting, messaging, and battery charge.3. Display Screen displays all the information needed to operate your phone, suchas the call status, the Contacts list, the date and time, and the signal and batterystrength.4. Navigation Key scrolls through the phone’s menu options and acts as a shortcutkey from standby mode.5. Softkeys let you select left and right softkey actions or menu items correspondingto the bottom left and bottom right lines on the Display Screen.6. Speaker Key lets you place or receive calls in speakerphone mode.7. TALK Key allows you to place or receive calls, answer Call Waiting, useThree-Way Calling, or activate Voice Dial.8. QWERTY keyboard provides an alphanumeric character keyboard layout.9. Camera Lens, as part of the built-in camera, lets you take pictures and videos.10. Mirror lets you see yourself when taking a self-portrait picture.11. Microphone allows other callers to hear you clearly when you are speaking tothem.12. END/POWER Key lets you turn the phone on or off, end a call, or return tostandby mode. While in the main menu, it returns the phone to standby mode andcancels your input. When you receive an incoming call, press END to enter ignore/reject the call.13. BACK/Clear Key deletes characters from the display in text entry mode. Whenin a menu, pressing or returns you to the previous menu. This key also allows you toreturn to the previous screen in a data session.14. MENU/OK lets you access the phone’s menus and selects the highlighted choicewhen navigating through a menu.15. Earpiece lets you hear the caller and automated prompts.16. Headset Jack allows you to plug in either a stereo headset (sold separately) oran optional headset for convenient, hands-free conversations. CAUTION! Inserting anaccessory into the incorrect jack may damage the phone.17. Volume Button allows you to adjust the ringer volume in standby mode or adjustthe voice volume during a call. The volume button can also be used to scroll up ordown to navigate through the different menu options.18. Camera Button lets you activate the camera and camcorder and take picturesand videos.19. Charger/Accessory Jack allows you to connect the phone charger or anoptional USB cable (not included). CAUTION! Inserting an accessory into theincorrect jack may damage the phone.20. microSD Card slot lets you use the included microSD card to expand thememory of your phone. To gain access to this slot, you must first remove the batterycover.Battery CapacityYour phone is equipped with a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery. It allows youto recharge your battery before it is fully drained. The battery providesup to 6.0 hours of continuous digital talk time. When the battery reaches5% of its capacity, the battery icon blinks. When there areapproximately two minutes of talk time left, the phone sounds anaudible alert and then turns off.Installing the Battery1. In a single motion, press down on the cover and slide it towards thegrill (1) and then carefully lift the battery cover away from the phone (2).2. Insert the battery into the opening, making sure to line up the goldcontacts (3). Gently press down to secure the battery (4).3. Replace the cover by lining up the tabs and then firmly sliding thecover away from the lens until it snaps into place.Removing the Battery1. Make sure the power is off so that you don’t loseany stored numbers or messages.2. In a single motion, press down on the cover andslide it towards the lens, then remove the batteryfrom the phone (1 and 2).Charging the BatteryKeeping track of your battery’s charge is important. If your batterylevel becomes too low, your phone automatically turns off, and youwill lose any information you were just working on.• A red indicator light means the battery is charging.• A green indicator light means the battery is at leas 90% charged.• A battery icon indicaes the current charge level of the internalbattery. |
