TheseFCC exposure limits are derived from the recommendations of twoexpert organizations, the National Council on Radiation Protectionand Measurement (NCRP) and the Institute of Electrical andElectronics Engineers (IEEE). In both cases, the recommendationswere developed by scientific and engineering experts drawn fromindustry, government, and academia after extensive reviews of thescientific literature related to the biological effects of RF energy. The exposure limit set by the FCC for wireless devices employs aunit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR).The SAR is a measure of the rate of absorption of RF energy by thehuman body expressed in units of watts per kilogram (W/kg). TheFCC requires wireless devices to comply with a safety limit of 1.6watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg). The FCC exposure limit incorporatesa substantial margin of safety to give additional protection to thepublic and to account for any variations in measurements.SAR tests are conducted using standard operating positionsaccepted by the FCC with the wireless transmitting at its highestcertified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although theSAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actualSAR level of the device while operating can be well below themaximum value. This is because the device is designed to operateat multiple power levels so as to use only the power required toreach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless basestation antenna, the lower the power output. Before a new model is available for sale to the public, it mustbe tested and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed theexposure limit established by the FCC. Tests for each model areperformed in positions and locations (e.g. at the bottom on thebody) as required by the FCC.For body worn operation, this model has been tested and meetsthe FCC RF exposure guidelines when used with a Samsungaccessory designated for this product. Non-compliance with theabove restrictions may result in violation of FCC RF exposureguidelines.SAR information on this and other model can be viewed on-lineat http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/. This site uses this product FCCID number on the outside of the product. Sometimes it may benecessary to remove the battery pack to find the number. Onceyou have the FCC ID number for a particular product, follow theinstructions on the website and it should provide values for typicalor maximum SAR for a particular product.Regulatory Compliance Statements
