Resolution ismeasured by the number of pixels (individual dots) displayed on the entire screen. Ingeneral, the more pixels the LCD can display, the better the image.The number of colours the LCD can display is measured by how many bits the LCDuses to represent each pixel:• 16-bit colour can support 64 K (65,536) colours.• 32-bit colour can support 16 M (16.8 million) colours.All these video modes can be displayed on an external monitor. However, if youdisconnect an external monitor that was attached to your computer and then start thecomputer, the LCD may revert to a different resolution than the one you chose for theexternal monitor.Adjusting the LCD BrightnessThere are 6 levels of LCD brightness (1: Dimmest ~ 6: Brightest). The default LCDbrightness setting is level 4. Whenever you change the power source, the brightnesslevel is changed to the following setting:• When operating on AC power : Level 6 (Brightest)• When operating on battery power : Level 1 (Dimmest)Once the LCD brightness has been changed, the changed setting will be maintainedafter restarting the computer. When the power source is changed (AC to battery orbattery to AC) while in operation, both the default brightness settings described abovewill be restored.You can adjust the LCD brightness by pressing or Arrow> on the keyboard.
