Some users with heavyaccents or unusual voice characteristics may find difficultyin achieving high accuracy with speaker independent DigitDialing, so the Adapt Digits feature allows users todramatically improve the digit accuracy throughadaptation. Users who get acceptable digit recognitionaccuracy will find no additional benefit to performing theAdapt Digit adaptation.After you adapt Digit Dial, your phone will be customizedto your voice. Other people will not be able to use DigitDial on your phone unless they reset the phone to factorydefaults.Adaptation involves recording several digit sequences toteach the system your voice. The adaptation process takesabout 3 minutes.Tips for adapting Digit Dial: Adapt digits in a quiet place. Make sure you wait for the beep before starting tospeak. Speak clearly, but say each digit sequence naturally. If you make a mistake while recording a sequence ofdigits, or if there is an unexpected noise that spoils therecording, you can say or select No when the promptNote: ONLY adapt Digit Dial if the system is frequently mis-recognizing your speech. You can always restore thesystem to its original factory setting.
