51Section 7: MessagingThis section explains how to send or receive different types ofmessages. This section also describes the features andfunctionality associated with messaging.Types of MessagesYour phone is able to send and receive Text and Picture/Videomessages to compatible phones and devices. Text messages canbe up to 160 characters in length.Note: As many as 70 text messages can be stored, regardless of memorycapacity. But in the case of MMS, up to 50 messages can be storeddepending on the available memory.Create and Send TextMessages1. In Standby mode, press the Msgssoft key, then select Send Message➔ Text Message. The Create TxtMsg screen appears in the displayshowing the To: list.Tip: To launch the Create Txt Msg screen using a voice command — InStandby mode, press and hold until the phone prompts, “Say acommand.” Say “Send Text” into the microphone. You are then promptedto say a Contact name or a number for the first recipient of themessage.2. Enter the phone number or Emailaddress of the recipient, then press. The Text: field appears in thedisplay.3. Enter the text content of yourmessage using the keypad. (Formore information, refer to “EnteringText” on page 35.)4. Press the Options soft key to complete the message textand set message send options. The following optionsappear in the display:• Edit Send To — Edit the recipient’s number or email address.• Add Quick Text — Insert pre-composed text in the message.• Save As Draft — Save the message to the Draft folder.
