58Section 5Letter RecognizerThis option allows you to enter text using your ownhandwriting. The screen is divided into three differentareas. A capital letter area, small letter area, and a numberarea. Characters are entered by printing letters in eacharea. The character is then analyzed and typed on thescreen automatically. The following options areassociated with this method:• Quick stroke• Right to left crossbar• Allow accented charactersTranscriberThe transcriber option is similar to the letter recognizer,except instead of entering characters into a designatedarea, you can enter entire words and sentences using yourown handwriting. Transcriber supports both printingand cursive writing styles and then automatically typesthe information on the screen. The following generaloptions are associated with this method:• Quick Settings Tab• Recognition: Identifies the language Transcriber recognizes.• Writing Direction: Select the direction that most closelyrepresents the angle at which you write. For example, ifyour writing slants to the right, select the second option.Use the last option to change the screen orientation forhandwriting recognition between portrait and landscape.• Show intro screen: Displays the help or introduction screenwhenever the transcriber option is selected.• Sound: Turns the sound On or Off.
