63MessagesThe SMS (Short Message Service) function is anetwork service and may not be supported by yournetwork. Messages can be sent by text, fax, E-mailand paging messaging systems, provided that theseservices are supported by your network. To sendtext messages by phone, you must obtain thenumber of the SMS centre from your serviceprovider.When the message icon appears, you havereceived new text messages. If the messagememory is full, an error message is displayed andyou cannot receive any new messages. Use theDelete option in your inbox and outbox to deleteobsolete messages.When you receive a new message in the key lockmode, you cannot view it without unlocking thekeypad. To do so, press the Unlock soft key andthe key.Inbox (Menu 1.1)The inbox is used to store the messages that youhave received.When you select this menu, the list of messages inthe inbox is displayed with the senders’ phonenumbers or names, if available in your phonebook.1. Select the message you wish to read from thelist and press the View soft key to view themessage contents.2. To scroll through the message, press theor key.3. To scroll to the previous or next message, pressthe or key.
