Call functions29Using the Speakerphone featureUse the stereo speakers on the sides of the phone totalk and listen with the phone a short distance away.Press [ ] to activate the Speakerphone feature.Press the key again to switch back to the earpiece.Using In-call optionsPress <Options> to access the following optionsduring a call:• Voice clarity on/Voice clarity off: removeextraneous noise and increase call quality so thatthe person with whom you are speaking can hearyou clearly even if you are in a noise place.• Mute/Unmute: switch off the phone's microphoneso that the other person on the phone cannot hearyou, or switch it back on.• Mute keys/Send keys: switch the key tones onor off.• Phonebook: access the contact list.• Send DTMF: send the DTMF (Dual tone multi-frequency) tones as a group. The DTMF tones arethe tones used in phones for tone dialling,sounding when you press the number keys. Thisoption is helpful for entering a password or anaccount number when you call an automatedsystem, like a banking service.• Message: read an incoming message and send anew message.p. 48• Join: set up a multi-party call by adding a calleron hold to a currently active call. You can includeup to five people on a multi-party call.• Split: have a private conversation with one multi-party call participant. The other participants canconverse with each other. After the privateconversation, select Join to return to themulti-party call.• Transfer: transfer the currently active call to acaller on hold. The two callers can talk to eachother, but you are disconnected from the call.To communicate with answering machines orcomputerised telephone systems, Send keysmust be selected.
