Menu functions Messaging (Menu 5)61Settings (Menu 5.5)Use this menu to set up various options for using themessaging service.SMS (Menu 5.5.1)You can configure default SMS settings.• Send settings: set up the following options forsending a text message:Reply path: allow the recipient to reply to youthrough your message centre.Delivery report: set the network to inform youwhen your message has been delivered.Character support: select a character encodingtype. If you select Auto, the phone switches theencoding type from GSM-alphabet to Unicode ifyou enter an Unicode character. Use of Unicodeencoding will reduce the maximum number ofcharacters in a message to about half. If this menuis not shown, your phone provides the Automaticcharacter encoding by default.Validity period: set the length of time yourmessages are stored in the SMS centre.Message type: set the default message type. Thenetwork can convert the messages into theselected format.Service centre: store or change the number ofyour message centre.• Block number: specify phone numbers fromwhich messages will not be accepted. Numbersspecified here are also included in the MMSblocking list.MMS (Menu 5.5.2)You can configure default MMS settings.• Send settings: set up the following options forsending a multimedia message:Delivery report: set the network to inform youwhen your message has been delivered.Address hiding: set your address to be hiddenfrom the recipient’s phone.Read reply: determine whether or not the phonesends a read-reply request.Priority: set the priority level of your messages.
