91T o n e sT o n e s90Melody Composer Menu 4-2This menu allows you to compose your own,customised ringing tone.• Three octaves are available.• A maximum of 100 notes can be entered.• Adjustable length of note and note rest.To Compose MelodyYou can compose three melodies. When you accessthe menu, the melody name appears, if alreadycreated. Otherwise, Empty appears. Select Emptyto create a new melody or select the melody’s namethat you want to edit.Use the following keys to compose a melody:: to enter C, the first note in the musical scale(doh).: to enter D (re).: to enter E (mi).: to enter F (fa).: to enter G (soh).: to enter A (la).: to enter B (ti).: to raise an octave higher or drop an octavelower.: Not available: to enter a note rest. Press until you findthe desired length of rest.: to raise one semitone above the tonewritten. Example:If you want to enter a Fsharp, press F (fa) then press .: to delete notes.: to move a note to the next semitonehigher position or lower position in themusical scale. For example, the note Amoves A#, B, C, C# in the scale each timeyou press .: to adjust a length of a note. Enter a note,then press . Notice that the note lengthchanges each time you press the key.You can listen to your melody by pressing the Listensoft key. If you are satisfied, press the Yes soft key,and enter the melody name. For information on howto enter a name, refer to page 33.Note: If you want to cancel your composing, press. The display goes back to the previousmenu level, the screen displays Empty.After you save the melody, the display asks you ifyou want to set the melody as the ring tone. If youselect Yes, your phone plays the melody each timeyour phone rings. If you select No, the melody is justsaved and the phone returns to the standby mode.To Delete a Selected Melody1. Select the melody you want to delete.2. Press and hold for a few seconds. All noteswill be erased.3. Press the Listen soft key. The display asks you ifyou are sure you want to erase the melody. Selectthe Yes soft key.
