41Entering textWhen using your phone, you will often need toenter text, such as when storing a name inPhonebook, creating your personal greeting orscheduling events on your calendar. You can enteralphanumeric characters by using your phone’skeypad.Your phone has the following text input modes:• Neopad Indian modeThis mode allows you to enter Indian (Hindi, Tamil,Marathi, and Bengali) words with virtual keypadwhich gives the user option to select one of fiveletters assigned on keys easily and user-friendlyfeatures like built-in dictionary stored over 13,000each of Indian languages for every-day use. Youcan also select Punjabi mode as the displaylanguage by selecting the Language menu option(Menu 4.4.6).• T9 modeThis mode allows you to enter words with only onekeystroke per letter. Each key on the keypad hasmore than one letter; for example, pressing the 5key can enter J, K, or L. However, T9 modeautomatically compares the series of keystrokesyou make with an internal linguistic dictionary todetermine the most likely word, thus requiring farfewer keystrokes than the traditional Alphabetmode.• Alphabet modeThis mode allows you to enter letters by pressingthe key labelled with the letter you want. Press thekey once, twice, three, or four times until itdisplays.• Number modeThis mode allows you to enter numbers.
