31Muting or Sending Key TonesThese options allow you to turn the key tones off or on. If the Mute keys option isselected, your phone does not transmit the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) tonesof the keys, which then allows you to press keys without hearing annoying key tonesduring a call.Note: To communicate with answering machines or computerized telephone systems, the Send DTMFoption must be selected.Searching for a Number in PhonebookYou can search for a number in Phonebook during a call.1. Press the Options soft key.2. Press the Down Navigation key to highlight Phonebook and press thekey.3. Press the Down Navigation key to highlight the Contact list option andpress the Select soft key or the key.With the Phonebook entries then listed:4. Enter the name that you wish to find in the textbox located above theentries. If you enter the first few letters of the name, the Phonebook entriesare listed starting with the first entry matching your input.Or, use the Up or Down Navigation key to highlight the contact that youdesire.5. To view the highlighted entry, press the Options soft key.6. Highlight the View option and press the Select soft key or the key.The Contact is displayed.For further details about the Phonebook feature, see "Finding a Phonebook Entry"on page 42.Call WaitingYou can answer an incoming call while you have a call in progress, if this service issupported by the network and you must have previously set the Call waiting optionto Activate. For more information, refer to "Call waiting" on page 75.You are then notified of an incoming call by a call waiting tone.To answer a new call while you have a call in progress:1. Press either the Accept soft key or the key to answer the incomingcall. The first call is automatically put on hold.
