314TTY ModeA TTY (also known as a TDD or Text Telephone) is atelecommunications device that allows people who are deaf,hard of hearing, or who have speech or language disabilities,to communicate by telephone.Your phone is compatible with select TTY devices. Pleasecheck with the manufacturer of your TTY device to ensurethat it is compatible with digital cell phones.Your phone and TTY device will connect via a special cablethat plugs into your phone’s headset jack. If this cable wasnot provided with your TTY device, contact your TTY devicemanufacturer to purchase the connector cable.1. From the Home screen, tap (Phone).2. Press and then tap Call settings ➔ TTY mode.3. Tap TTY Full, TTY HCO, or TTY VCO to activate thefeature, or TTY Off to deactivate the feature. Off is thedefault setting.Configuring Additional Voice Call Settings1. From the Home screen, tap (Phone).2. Press and then tap Call settings ➔ Additionalsettings.3. Tap one of the following options:• Caller ID: chooses whether your number is displayed whensomeone answers your outgoing call. Choose from: Networkdefault, Hide number, or Show number.• Call barring: blocks specific types of calls (All outgoing calls,International calls, etc..).• Call waiting: notifies you of an incoming call while you are onanother call.• Auto redial: automatically redial the dialed number if it isunable to connect or the call is cut off.• Noise reduction: suppresses background noise on your side ofthe conversation during an active call.• Fixed Dialing Numbers: manages fixed dialing numbers.• Auto area code: allows you to automatically prepend a specificarea code to all outbound calls.
