92Sound SettingsYou can use the Sound Settings feature tocustomize various settings, such as the:• ring melody, volume and type.• sounds made when you press a key, receive amessage or switch your phone on/off.• alert tone made every minute during a call, whenyou make an error or when your call is connectedto the system.Note: When the phone is in Silent mode (seepage 28), you cannot change the soundsettings.Ring Tone (Menu 4.1)This option allows you to select a ring melody.You can choose between many different melodies.If you have downloaded sounds from the Internet,you can use them in this menu.Ring Volume (Menu 4.2)This option allows you to adjust the ring volume toone of five levels.Use the Up and Down keys or the Volume keys onthe left side of the phone to increase or decreasethe volume.Sound Settings93Alert Type (Menu 4.3)This option allows you to specify how you are to beinformed of incoming calls.The following options are available:Light Only: the service light flashes; the phoneneither rings nor vibrates.Melody: the phone rings using the ring melodyselected in the Ring Tone menu (Menu 4.1); seepage 92.Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.Vibra+Melody: the phone first vibrates threetimes and then starts ringing.Keypad Tone (Menu 4.4)This option allows you to select the tone that thephone sounds when you press a key.You can select an option from Cool, Piano, Toneand Beep.
